Our integrated orientation systems stimulate interest, entertain visitors and provide valuable economic benefit. Our concept is based upon integrating on-street orientation units (featuring both navigation and interpretation), bus and public transport information, welcome and orientation panels at car parks, a user-friendly pocket map and a promotional website (or any combination of these).
an effective orientation system tells you exactly where you are ...in terms of both geography and history
We are however, not advocating an 'off the shelf' solution to pedestrian orientation. We work closely with our clients to develop a solution that meets the objectives of all concerned, but there are common themes to which we adhere:
The economic case - Our systems are focused on the economic benefits of encouraging visitors to explore further and stay longer.
Integration - Integration is key to our thinking. On-street information are integrated with visitor maps and can be integrated further with information at transport interchanges.
Design quality - Urban design is key to creating sustainable development and to ensuring that public spaces are safe, attractive and fun.
Getting the detail right - Our systems are designed to inspire confidence and we take great care to ensure that we have the details 100% correct. In building maps and researching historic events there is no such thing as a minor detail.
It is this concept rather than the design of on-street units that is the core of the Streetwise product. Cost considerations aside, there is no limitation on the solutions we can provide for presenting the information on the street. Many of the clients we have worked with have favoured on-street units that have previously been backed by conservation bodies, but we will be delighted to discuss what would be most appropriate to your locality.
