At Streetwise, we have an understanding of the visitor experience. We appreciate the frustration felt by visitors in navigating a new city, especially when signage is not adequate. It's important for visitors and to local attractions alike, that visitors see the maximum number of sites during their stay and not squander precious time trying to find them.
The approach to navigation adopted by Streetwise will of course depend upon local factors. One approach we have used is a system of on-streets navigation units featuring three levels of information:
-
A road signage style map that simplifies complex junctions
-
A local map giving the user details of points of interest
-
A City Centre map showing all attractions
Our systems help visitors to explore further than they might have, to highlight the full range of attractions and places of interest and can help a destination to tell the story of its history and heritage – effectively providing a new attraction for the visitors walking the streets.
Transport interchanges
Streetwise don’t just address pedestrian navigation, our systems can also integrate transport interchanges to make it as easy as possible for visitors to find their way around.
Our mapping system can be applied to bus or tram stops, helping visitors to see the range of attractions and to establish which bus or tram can take them there.
Our orientation systems can be used to welcome visitors arriving at stations and car parks, helping to illustrate where they are in relation to the city centre and the main attractions.
